Buffalo cop suspended after accusations of DWI

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo Police officer has been suspended with pay after allegedly drinking and driving.

Sources say a crash on Friday led to the arrest of David Rodriguez — a 22-year veteran of the Buffalo Police. Police say Rodriguez was off duty when he struck another vehicle from behind, and no injuries were reported.

The officer is a Marine Corps veteran and an accident investigator. Officials say an internal investigation is underway.

Rodriguez, who is openly gay, marched in full uniform in the 2015 Pride Parade — a part of Buffalo’s Pride Week.
