Man allegedly used cellphone to watch woman in changing room

BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A Michigan man has been arrested after allegedly using a cellphone to watch a woman in a changing room.

It happened on March 4 at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Byron Township, according to a news release from the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies say the victim was changing her clothes when she noticed a cellphone being held over top of the wall of the changing room, the release said.

The victim yelled, then employees confronted the suspect when he came out of the changing room directly adjacent. The suspect denied any wrongdoing and fled the scene.

Employees told authorities they recognized the suspect as a frequent customer. The victim’s husband was also able to get the suspect’s license plate.

A few hours later deputies arrested the suspect at his place of work.

The suspect, 42-year-old Jeffrey Green, was charged with using a computer to commit a crime, surveilling an unclothed person and eavesdropping. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
