BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – One of three people behind a brutal killing in Buffalo in 2014 learned how long he’ll spend behind bars for his role.
Juakeen Glenn, 30, was sentenced to 23 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision in Erie County Court Wednesday morning.
Glenn and two others, Kenneth Smith and Mahalia Guest, all pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of 57-year-old Rafael Martinez in November 2014.
Smith was sentenced to 23 years in prison earlier this month.
Martinez was killed in a gruesome attack on November 11, 2014, inside Smith’s apartment. Martinez was brutally beaten and stabbed in the throat before his body was dumped in a nearby alley. It was discovered the next day.
At Smith’s sentencing, his attorney reiterated his claims that Guest stabbed Martinez and Glenn cut the man’s throat.
All three were originally charged with murder, but later pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
