Reward grows for man who fled during murder investigation

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An available reward is growing for a man who is wanted by police on the suspicion of committing murder.

Police have been searching for months for Dominick Cruz, who fled authorities when they attempted to arrest him on the job at Speed Global Services in early January.

Officers highlighted Cruz as the person of interest after the murder of a local man in North Tonawanda. Cruz is suspected of firing on two men, killing 27-year-old Mark Sternin.

Originally Crime Stoppers offered a reward of $1,000 reward for his arrest, but U.S. Marshals are also offering a reward of up to $2,500 for any information leading to Cruz’s arrest.

Last seen in at his place of work, Cruz lived on Amherst Street in Buffalo, but has connections across the northeast.

Officers have described Cruz as being a short man of Puerto Rican descent, who weighs roughly 140 pounds and has black hair.

Anybody who has information on Cruz’s location is asked to call police immediately at (716) 867-6161. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
