BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Prosecutors say two Buffalo brothers admitted to manslaughter after an August incident that killed 54-year-old James McCloskey.
German Rosado-Thomas, 20, and Alvin Marrero, 16, pleaded guilty to attempting to rob McCloskey, assaulting him, and ultimately, fatally shooting him.
McCloskey had been pushing a shopping cart full of cans down Arkansas Street shortly after midnight when the brothers confronted him.
Prosecutors say Marrero struck McCloskey in the head with a fake gun before Rosado-Thomas pistol whipped and shot the victim.
The brothers took nothing and the man was left to die in the streets. The incident was captured on private surveillance cameras, according to prosecutors.
The two will be sentenced on May 2 and face a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.
