AUSTIN, TX (WIVB) — A new invention could take away the worry for women jogging alone.
A woman in Texas has launched a new era of self-protection for female runners everywhere — the Booby Trap Sports Bra.
Jennifer Cutrona says she got the idea after a scary encounter on her morning run.
She says last April, she was jogging on a trail near her home in Austin when a man jumped out of the bushes to grab her.
She got away from the attacker and ran home, but the close call sparked an idea to design a bra with a knife built into it for protection.
“It had to happen for me to move forward,” said Cutrona. “I was excited that I got away, but i know a lot of women aren’t that lucky.”
The Just In Case knife bra sells for $55, with the knife sold separately.
For women who aren’t comfortable with knives, there’s the Just In Case Pepper Spray Bra available for $50.
