NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — Witnesses say two accidents occurred on Hyde Park Boulevard in Niagara Falls Tuesday morning.

Police say a vehicle collided into a pedestrian just before 7 a.m on Hyde Park Boulevard and Sherwood Avenue. Witnesses say they saw police throw up crime scene tape and bring investigators to the field.

Officers with the Niagara Falls Police Department say a 69-year-old attempted to cross Hyde Park Boulevard when a 26-year-old man in a Buick Regal attempted to turn off of Sherwood Avenue onto Hyde park Boulevard, striking the pedestrian.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries, a broken clavicle and broken ribs. First responders rushed the man to the Erie County Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition. Police investigation continues into that crash.
