NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — Witnesses say two accidents occurred on Hyde Park Boulevard in Niagara Falls Tuesday morning.
Police say a vehicle collided into a pedestrian just before 7 a.m on Hyde Park Boulevard and Sherwood Avenue. Witnesses say they saw police throw up crime scene tape and bring investigators to the field.
Officers with the Niagara Falls Police Department say a 69-year-old attempted to cross Hyde Park Boulevard when a 26-year-old man in a Buick Regal attempted to turn off of Sherwood Avenue onto Hyde park Boulevard, striking the pedestrian.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries, a broken clavicle and broken ribs. First responders rushed the man to the Erie County Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition. Police investigation continues into that crash.
Witnesses also say a tractor-trailer crashed head-on into a Jeep on the road near Lafayette Avenue. The scene appeared to be clear hours later. Police have yet to comment about that crash.
