Authorities looking for teens after attempted scrap metal robbery

HOLLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) — Members of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office are looking for two teenage boys suspected of trying to rob a business of scrap metal.

The alleged robbery attempt had been taking place on Olean Road in Holland when a person making a delivery said he noticed the teenagers removing scrap metal from ARB Heating and Cooling.

The delivery person confronted the teens and was punched in the face, according to deputies. The teens then fled into the woods without any items.

After this, a detective with a canine responded to the scene in an attempt to find the suspects, but they could not be located.

Authorities describe the teens as thin white males weighing around 120-130 pounds and looking to be around 17 or 18 years old. Both have dirty blond hair.

One of the suspects was wearing a black Under Armour hoodie featuring a logo with a “multidimensional” color scheme. He had his hood up and was also wearing blue jeans.

The other suspect had gray sweatpants with cargo pockets bearing top flaps, a blue hoodie and a backwards white baseball cap appearing to have a Gators logo on it.

The Sheriff’s Office is offering up to $1,000 for information on the suspects.
