UB Bulls football team begins spring practices

Who will replace Joe Licata at quarterback?

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Tuesday marked the first spring practice of the season for the UB Bulls football team. The Bulls will hold 14 sessions before playing the annual spring game on April 23rd.

For the first time since 2012, Williamsville native Joe Licata is not the Bulls’ starting quarterback. Instead, three signal-callers will compete for the starting job.

The candidates: Iowa State transfer Grant Rohach, sophomore Chris Merchant and redshirt freshman Tyree Jackson. All three bring something different to the table for second-year coach Lance Leipold.
