Former Jamestown cop charged with posting threatening messages

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A former police officer from Jamestown is facing federal charges after authorities looked into threatening messages on an online forum.

Officials say they learned Michael Bush, 35, posted threats against two people in communications on the Jamestown, New York Topix forum page. Investigation led police to arrest Bush, a former Jamestown Police Department officer.

Bush faces charges of transmitting communication containing a threat to injure the person of another. That charge carries a maximum sentence of five years behind bars and a fine of up to $250,000.
