Niagara Falls man who admitted to child porn possession sentenced to 5 years in prison

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Niagara Falls man will head to prison for five years after admitting to possessing hundreds of child porn images.

Prosecutors say Jeremy Scouten, 37, admitted to storing images and videos on his computer of child pornography — some of which contained violent images of abuse to minors of 12-years-old or younger — in 2012.

Police who raided his home confirmed they located the images on his computer, leading to charges to be filed against him.

When he pleaded guilty he faced up to 10 years behind bars, but was not sentenced to the maximum possible penalty.
