DMV technical glitches bring transactions offline

NEW YORK (WIVB) — Technical glitches that began in the morning for the Department of Motor Vehicles prompted a late open across New York State and persisted throughout the day.

Officials announced at 8 a.m. all DMV offices would open late due to the computer issues, and although offices opened about two hours later, the issues brought the DMV computer processing system offline again in the afternoon.

On both the DMV website and on social media, officials announced at about 3 p.m. the issues wouldn’t be fixed on Tuesday. For all of Tuesday, offices can’t process transactions and web transactions won’t be available.

Officials apologized for the inconvenience.
