BPS student approached by suspicious man

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Officials say an investigation is underway into a student approached by a suspicious man on Buffalo’s east side.

A call went out to parents in the Buffalo Public School district to inform them a man approached a school-aged girl demanding she get into his car near Bailey and Lisbond Avenues.

The girl fled the scene and continued to school where she reported the incident to authorities, describing the man as a roughly 30-year-old black man with a beard and short hair.

The man’s vehicle is described as a rounded with a yellow New York plate. Buffalo Police have been made aware of the interaction and are investigating.

School officials urged parents to have a serious conversation with students on avoiding strangers and explaining the description of the person and vehicle.
