Peace Bridge to be illuminated in purple for Prince

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A western New York and international icon in the Peace Bridge will be illuminated in purple to remember a fallen pop legend.

Prince, who died on Thursday, is mourned across the nation by those who consumed and enjoyed his music. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Musician frequently wore purple and jammed on a purple guitar, and released an album and song entitled Purple Rain — leading to purple being the color he most frequently is remembered by.

Staples across the nation have created purple memorials for the legend, and New York’s Peace Bridge will be next. The Peace Bridge will be illuminated all night on Friday in purple for the legend.
