CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Friday night fire in a Clarence house caused $600,000 in damage, but more damage resulted from the fire rekindling the next morning, according to the Clarence Fire Company.
The fire started in a chimney in the home on Timberlake Drive, and caused $300,000 in damage to the building along with $300,000 to the contents, according to Jeff Schlabach, Chief, Clarence Fire District #1.
Hours after it was put out, the fire rekindled, causing more damage. After it was put out again, the total damage estimates were increased to $1 million to the house, and $750,000 to the contents.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
