Suspected shooter in Georgia deaths found dead

Man wanted by Columbia County, GA, sheriff, identified as Wayne Hawes.

Appling, GA (WIVB/WJBF) –

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office confirms the accused shooter, Wayne Anthony Hawes shot and killed himself inside his home.

All 5 shooting victims have been identified as:

Roosevelt Burns, 75 yrs old of McCladdie Drive Appling, Ga

Rheba Mae Dent, 85 yrs old of Johnson Drive Appling, Ga

Kelia Clark, 31 yrs old of Johnson Drive Appling, Ga

Lizzy Williams, 59 yrs old

Shelly Williams, 62 yrs old

Police are looking for the man in a picture shown with this story in connection with the shooting deaths of 5 people Friday evening at two different locations:

Investigators are looking for 50 years old Wayne Anthony. 5’9″ & 230 lbs. Deputies say the suspect knew victims and they are trying to figure out the motive.

Columbia County dispatch confirms that two people are dead at a shooting on Johnson Drive.
They have also confirmed that two other victims are dead in a shooting that happened on Rosemont Road.
