BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Investigators looking into the shooting death of Kelvin Alexander, 24, in March say they’ve arrested and brought 26-year-old Jermaine Watkins in on charges of murder.
Watkins, of Buffalo, stands accused of gunning down Alexander on the second floor of a barber shop on Genesee Street during a party. The two apparently had an argument before things turned violent.
Although first responders rushed Alexander to the Erie County Medical Center, he later died of his wounds there. Investigation into the altercation netted Watkins’ arrest.
Watkins faced an Erie County judge on Wednesday where he was indicted on charges of second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Following his appearance, he was remanded to jail without bail. He’ll return to court at a later date.
