DARIEN CENTER, N.Y. (WIVB) — Western New York’s largest theme park, Darien Lake, will be open for the season starting this weekend.

The park’s 53rd season will officially begin on Saturday, May 7. This year, Darien Lake will have a new water ride, an updated laser show and four free concerts within the park itself.

“We continue to improve and develop the park to provide exceptional value and extraordinary experiences for our guests,” said Darien Lake General Manager Chris Thorpe. “The new RipCurl Racer water ride and the stunning must-see laser show elements are as awe-inspiring and exhilarating as they are colorful.  If you haven’t visited the park in a while, now’s the time to come out and see what’s hot and happening at Darien Lake.”

Park attendants will now have access to more than 50 rides.

Information on the RipCurl Racer water ride can be found here and details on the updated light show, here.

The in-park concerts are free with the cost of admission. Here are the scheduled performers:

  • May 28 — Jacob Whitesides and Laura Marano
  • June 4 — Rachel Platten
  • June 25 — Sabrina Carpenter
  • July 2 — Daya and Shawn Hook

Officials with Darien Lake say that season passes to the park have “greater value than ever before” as they essentially pay for themselves “in less than two visits.”
