Man charged with attempting to steal 15 packs of Pokemon cards

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Batavia man was booked and charged with stealing 15 packs of Pokemon cards from a local Walmart over the weekend.

Officials say 21-year-old Christopher Smith ran off with the cards, valued at just $63 and attempted to stash them underneath a car in the parking lot.

New York State Troopers stopped Smith and cuffed him after receiving a call from Walmart. He faces charges of petit larceny.

Smith will return to court on May 9.
