TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Sinatra’s restaurant is located on the border of Buffalo and the Town of Tonawanda. It will eventually move across the street to a new location on Kenmore Avenue. Some neighbors say the project is too big for too little of a space.
On Wednesday night, several concerned neighbors came to the Town of Tonawanda Planning Board meeting to discuss their issues.
One concerned neighbor, Susan D’Angelo, who lives on Irvine Terrace, says, “It’s going to affect the traffic on our streets, it’s going to affect parking, and they don’t have enough parking spaces to begin with.”
The planned development will consist of a 3 story mixed used building on the corner of South Irving and Kenmore.
Once built, Sinatra’s restaurant will relocate to the new building across the street. The restaurant will be on the 1st floor, with 10 apartments each on the 2nd and 3rd floor.
D’Angelo also says her home will decrease in value because of the size and proximity to nearby properties.
“We have basically no privacy left, so we basically get the back end of the restaurant, so the front side will be pretty, the sides will be pretty, we get the ugly, we get the back of the restaurant door, the ventilation systems things like that.”, said D’Angelo
A spokesperson for Sinatra & Company Real Estate says they’re willing to work with the community and the municipality regarding different issues.
The project goes back in front of the town planning board on June 1st.
