Suspect caught on camera breaking into Buffalo State Newman Center

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An investigation is pending into a breaking and entering at the SUNY Buffalo State Newman Center.

Officials are looking into security footage captured on the Catholic center’s facilities. A filed police report with Buffalo’s D-District describes damage to the center’s door totaling about $300.

The break-in, which Newman Center officials say happened on Sunday, left the lock and door pried open.

Provided security footage shows a young man with a backpack walking into, then out of, the center at the time of the break in. Anybody with information is asked to call police at Buffalo’s D-District. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
