Bills rookies arrive for workouts

35 players arrive for the first time at One Bills Drive.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – One week ago these guys were college players, waiting to find out their NFL draft fate. Seven of the players were drafted, another 28 were either signed as undrafted free agents or invited to rookie minicamp. Either way, whether you were a first-round pick, or the last guy invited, everyone starts on the ground floor.

“They gave us a lot to know on the first day, but you know our coaches are the type to be understandable that it’s the first day,” quarterback Cardale Jones said. “They know to help along with things we’re not picking up on as fast as they thought we would be, but overall I think I’m keeping my head above water.”

“It comes fast, you gotta be able to learn quick, and I picked up well on it today,” first round pick Shaq Lawson said. “I am just gonna continue to get better with the playbook, continue to study, but it come fast. I could tell it was a lot different from college, it comes at you faster.”
