Mother-son drug dealing team plead guilty to having nearly 1,000 heroin baggies

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo drug dealing team comprised of a mother and son has officially admitted to the crime after they were arrested in February.

Prosecutors say 23-year-old Erik Arias and 40-year-old Erika Brown, who both lived on 15th Street in Buffalo, pleaded guilty on Friday to felony heroin possession and sale charges.

They admitted to owning and preparing to distribute nearly 1,000 bags of heroin to local addicts. Police uncovered the team after Brown sold drugs to an undercover cop on two occasions, leading her to also plead guilty to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Brown, who admitted to more crimes, faces a prison sentence of up to 27 years behind bars. Her son faces a sentence of up to 12 years behind bars.

Both return to court for sentencing on June 15. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
