BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Theodore’s Red Hots locations are going to stay closed for good after state officials seized each restaurant in the region last month.
The company issued a statement thanking their workers and customers:
“A Message to the Employees of Theodore’s (Our Extended Family) Despite our efforts to reopen Theodore’s and get everyone back to work, we have been unsuccessful. It is with a heavy heart that we make the formal announcement that we will not be reopening our restaurants.
First and foremost, Beth and I wish to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to every one of you who made so many sacrifices and gave so much of yourselves to help us make Theodore’s one of the best restaurants in Western New York and help us carry on the tradition my Grandfather started. We will be forever grateful and we know that without your support and dedication, it would not have been possible.
Second, we want to assure you that your final paychecks will be mailed this weekend along with any working papers that we had on file. Please feel free to email us at email@example.com if you have any questions or concerns.
Lastly, we wish you all the best and much success as your journey continues. We are confident that each and every one of our employees would be ranked “best of the best” and will be asset to any organization and we would be happy to provide letters of recommendation.
In Love and Faith,
Ted and Beth”
All three restaurant properties in Cheektowaga, Grand Island and Williamsville were seized in April due to the company owing $123,000 in back taxes.
The first location, in Grand Island, was opened in 2011.
