Arsonist who burned historic Brocton church sentenced to prison

BROCTON, N.Y. (WIVB) — A convicted arsonist is heading to prison for burning a large Chautauqua County church to the ground.

Daniel Frey, 33, burned Brocton’s Tri Parish Church to the ground in November of 2013. Frey faced arrest and eventual conviction after he was arrested over a year later in March of 2015.

A judge sentenced Frey on Monday to spend an indeterminate sentence of between four and eight years in prison.
