Perry man accused of damaging police vehicle, 6 others at dealership

AVON, N.Y. (WIVB) — After receiving a report of an argument happening in the Livingston County village of Avon, New York State Police ended up arresting a Wyoming County man on a charge of felony criminal mischief.

State Police responded to the scene and say they found Perry resident Justin Putney, 25, drunk on Interstate Drive.

While investigating, Troopers say they found out that Putney damaged seven vehicles at the nearby Genesee Valley Ford dealership. One of those vehicles was a SUNY Police vehicle, according to Troopers.

The damage included parts being torn off vehicles, as well as scratches and dents to them.

Putney was arraigned following the felony charge and committed to the Livingston County Jail.
