Police accuse Fredonia man of driving while twice over legal alcohol limit

FREDONIA, N.Y. (WIVB) — One thing led to another as a Fredonia man was allegedly found to be twice over the legal limit for alcohol while driving in the village.

State Police say they pulled Larry Bell, 64, over for not dimming his high beams while he was driving on East Main Street Monday morning.

After questioning Bell, Troopers say they began to administer a variety of field sobriety tests, which he subsequently failed.

Bell was then placed under arrest and taken to the Fredonia State Police barracks, where authorities say his blood-alcohol content was .20 percent.

Bell was charged with aggravated DWI and will appear in court later in May.
