Erie Co. deputies investigating nearly 20 recent larcenies

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Over the past few days, members of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office have responded to nearly 20 larceny calls in Boston, Concord, Elma and Grand Island.

Among the stolen items are purses, change, mail, credit and debit cards, checkbooks, driver’s licenses and other personal or valuables items.

The thieves have been getting into the vehicles through unlocked doors or by breaking windows.

The Sheriff’s Office has taken the recent larcenies as a time to remind drivers to lock their cars, even if they’re in a garage, and not leave valuable items inside them.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity is asked to call local law enforcement officers. The Sheriff’s department can be reached at 858-2903. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
