HINSDALE, N.Y. (WIVB) — Across western New York, warmer months have seen an increase in car larcenies, including in Cattaraugus County.
Police released new details on Tuesday detailing a host of larcenies in Cattaraugus County on the same day police in Erie County warned of a rash of car break-ins.
As in Erie County, Sheriff Timothy Whitcomb said many times the larcenies can be stopped simply by stowing any valuables and locking doors to cars.
Most residents, Whitcomb said, reported the break-ins overnight and have included the theft of valuables — including multiple guns.
Anybody with information on the break-ins is asked to call (716) 938-9191.
