BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A source confirmed Tuesday afternoon that Jim Crowley is leaving the St. Bonaventure women’s basketball program to assume the same role at Providence. Crowley has been with the Bonnies since the 2000-2001 season.

The Bonnies are coming off a 24-8 season that ended in the second round of the NCAA tournament, falling to Oregon State 69-40. It was Crowley’s second NCAA appearance as a head coach, in 2012 he led the program to their first ever Sweet 16. He was named ESPN.com’s “Coach of the Year” in 2012.

Last season the Friars finished 5-24, 1-17 in the Big East.
