BERGEN, N.Y. (WIVB) — One person was trapped in a car after a head-on crash in the Genesee County town of Bergen just before 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

As a Batavia truck driver was traveling down Route 33 at West Bergen Road, he tried to pass a turning vehicle that was almost stopped.

While this was happening, the truck passed the vehicle by moving left and ended up colliding head-on with another car.

The car driver, a Rochester man, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with severe leg injuries. He was previously trapped in the car.

The two people in the truck were not injured.

No charges have been filed, according to Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies, who say alcohol, drugs and speed were not factors in the crash.
