Junk food harms kidneys in similar way to diabetes

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Junk food may hurt your body more than you think.

Doctors say it can do major damage to your kidneys. They warn that a high fat died may harm the kidneys as much as having Type-II diabetes.

The researchers published their findings in the journal Experimental Psychology. Junk food drives up blood sugar levels comparable to diabetes, and the body struggles to effectively use insulin.

This could lead to build-ups of sugar or glucose in the blood, according to the researchers.

Long term, this can cause diabetic kidney disease because the kidneys end up working too hard.
