Mayor Brown nominated for Democratic Committee Chair

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown could take on a big role in state politics.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo nominated Brown to serve as Democratic Committee Chair.

In a statement, Mayor Brown says he is honored to be nominated, and is looking forward to working with Democrats across the state. He mentioned a number of issues, including electing Hillary Clinton President.

The Governor nominated Christine Quinn, president and CEO of Women in Need, to serve as Vice Chair.
