Colorado woman’s garage door vandalized with spray-painted message ‘move or die’

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The garage of Colorado resident Luane Freark was vandalized on Tuesday morning.

The message read “Move or die.”

But Freark said she thinks people are mistaking her house for that of her next-door neighbor.

John Frey, 68, was arrested last February for sexual assault on a child. He met the alleged victim at his wife’s unlicensed home child care business in northeastern Colorado Springs. Several more apparent victims under the age of 10 came forward.

“I do understand everybody’s frustration… tensions are high in the neighborhood,” Freark said. “It has been quite some time since the gentleman was arrested… and he is still living in the house, but at this time I feel that someone has mistakenly targeted me.”

Freark is asking whoever is doing this to please stop and let the justice system do its work.

Police said whoever vandalized Freark’s home could face charges of criminal mischief and harassment. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
