Suspect escapes after officer-involved shooting

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A suspect is on the loose after police say he pulled a gun on a Buffalo Police Officer.

Police say they’re investigating an evening altercation just after 5:15 p.m. on the 1,000 block of East Ferry between an officer and a suspect.

While investigating, police say a chase broke out, leading the suspect to draw a gun on an officer. Buffalo Police say the officer responded by drawing her weapon and firing in return.

In the exchange of bullets, nobody suffered any injury, but investigation is continuing into the incident.

Police say as per standard protocol, Internal Affairs is investigating the shooting.
