CAMBRIDGE, England (WIVB) — A new study from Cambridge University says couples in Britain are having 40 percent less sex than they did 20 years ago. Cambridge professor David Spiegelhalter claims you can blame this on addictive shows.
Researchers have warned us before that using devices like iPads too much could mean we’re less bored, and less likely to have sex.
Spiegelhalter is calling out streaming services like Netflix and HBO GO for adding to the problem. He claims the massive connectivity, the need to binge watch entire seasons of shows, is what’s killing the sexual spark.
According to The Telegraph, British couples in 1990 said they had sex about five times a month on average. Ten years later, it was down to four times a month, and in 2010, it was down to only three times a month.
If you’re looking to have an intimate night with your sweetheart, maybe give your favorite shows a rest.
