CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A bus driver for the Chautauqua Lake School District is accused of endangering the welfare of a child after an alleged incident from April.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was not specific, but they said Edward Farnsworth, 58, “engaged in actions” that constituted a crime during an afternoon bus run in the town of Chautauqua.
The school district released a statement on their web site:
“Chautauqua Lake Central School District officials are aware that a substitute bus driver for the district is accused of endangering the welfare of a child after an alleged incident in April. The individual has not driven a bus for the district since the district learned of the allegation.
Immediately upon learning of the allegation, district administrators reported it to law enforcement, and have cooperated with the law enforcement investigation.
Because this is a personnel matter, district officials cannot have any further comment.”
Farnsworth, a Dewittville resident, was given a court appearance ticket for a later date.
