Teen arrested with shotgun following armed robbery of Dollar General

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Officers investigating an armed robbery at a Dollar General on the 300 block of West Ferry say they arrested a teen with a firearm soon after investigation began.

Police say a 16-year-old robbed the store Tuesday with a shotgun just after 1:30 p.m., making off with money from the heist in a taxi used as a getaway vehicle. Buffalo Police officers say they used surveillance cameras to track the suspect as he fled, eventually stopping him on Wyoming Avenue.

The teen faces multiple felony charges, including criminal use of a firearm, robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, forgery, criminal mischief and other misdemeanors.

The money has been returned to the store and the shotgun has been confiscated.
