BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A full-blown meth lab on Buffalo’s west side has produced its last batch of addictive drugs, police say after raiding a West Avenue home.
Buffalo Police, Buffalo Fire, Hazmat, New York State Police and more responded to the home on the street’s 800 block just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Officers first broke into the home, locating a batch of crystal meth and one and a half pounds of crack cocaine.
Inside the home, they also arrested Thomas Eisenberger, 33, for allegedly owning the drugs. He faces felony charges of unlawfully possessing methamphetamine, criminal possession of controlled substances and criminal possession of marijuana.
Following his arrest, crews got to work in securing the dangerous site, placing hazardous materials in buckets and hauling them away for disposal.
Officers say they also discovered three suspicious sticks, believed to be explosives. Erie County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad team members responded to the scene to dispose of them, later learning they likely weren’t harmful.
Eisenberger will return to court at a later date.
