BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Allentown Art Festival is almost here. More than 400 artists are coming to Buffalo, showcasing and selling their pieces. There are sculptures, paintings, jewelry and more.
This is the 59th annual Allentown Art Festival. More than 100,000 people are expected to hit the streets – down Delaware Avenue and around Allentown — looking at and purchasing the art.
The organizers say as the festival keeps growing, it is playing an important role in the budding culture scene evolving around the city.
“People might not be exposed to art in their daily lives but here they can see art sorts of different things,” said Rita Harrington-Lippman, the president for the Allentown Village Society. “Everyone has a different take on art. You may look at something and think it’s extraordinary. You may see something in it that maybe even the artist didn’t see. It’s very personal and gets people talking.”
The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 11 and 12. This year, you can visit the festival website to check out direct locations and receive directions to vendors booths.
