Man charged with homicide over deadly August Buffalo crash

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man is facing felony charges over an August crash on Masten and Northampton that led to the death of an elderly woman.

Officials say they officially have charged and arraigned Jamar Sales, 20, on criminally negligent homicide, reckless driving, speeding and passing a red light charges. Police say Sales drove his car at a high rate of speed through a red light, slamming into 72-year-old Sylvia deRosas’ vehicle, leading to her death.

Although Sales has pleaded not guilty to the crime, a judge placed him in jail on $10,000 bail.
