Suspect captured after shooting that injured Ohio deputy

DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (AP/WCMH) – Authorities in Ohio say a man accused of shooting two people including a sheriff’s deputy has been captured.

The shooting happened Thursday night in Deerfield Township, about 25 miles northeast of Cincinnati.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office was searching for 19-year-old Mohammed Abdou Laghaoui.

Authorities say the female deputy was shot while responding to report of a domestic situation at an apartment complex.

They say she was taken to a hospital, and was “conscious and alert.” Another person also was shot. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Deerfield Township Fire Rescue sent out a tweet late Thursday warning of an active shooter situation. They advised people to stay inside and not to open their doors to strangers.
