Man fatally shot multiple times on Jamestown porch identified

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man died after he sustained multiple gunshot wounds while standing on the porch of his apartment building in Jamestown, police said Thursday.

Officers say shots rang out on Prendergast Avenue just before 6 p.m., when a suspect walked up to the porch from behind the house and fired off a volley of shots. The suspect fled the scene, police said.

First responders rushed to the scene to evacuate the victim, identified as Obryan Ramos, 28, to WCA Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries soon after.

Now, police are working to investigate who pulled the trigger and are asking the community to help. They say the suspect is described as a black or Hispanic man wearing dark clothing and may have had a prior dispute with the victim.
