Medina woman killed in 11-vehicle Texas crash

AMARILLO, Texas (WIVB) — A Medina woman was killed in an 11-vehicle crash in Texas, according to CBS contributors there.

Six tractor-trailers and five other vehicles collided with one another on I-40 “about 30 miles east of Amarillo Wednesday night,” contributors say. The lone fatality of the crash was Medina resident Tammy Page.

The multi-vehicle incident temporarily closed down traffic on I-40, leading drivers to take other routes. Sources say chemical spillage was a cause for concern, leading to hazmat crews being called to scene. The Texas Department of Public Safety later told contributors that nothing dangerous spilled out of any vehicles.

It is not clear what caused the massive crash, but contributors say drivers complained of “blowing dust and low visibility” on the road.
