Police: Baby sustains serious injuries dealt by Lockport father

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) — A local man has been arrested on felony charges of dealing serious injuries to his 5-week-old child in April.

Police say they’ve been investigating how the child sustained such serious injuries on April 16 at a Lockport home, later gathering enough evidence to charge the baby’s 32-year-old father David Barnes.

Niagara County Sheriff’s Deputies cuffed Barnes on charges of second-degree assault and reckless assault of a child.

Following his arraignment, Barnes was jailed on $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond.
