Alleged speeding leads to felony charges against previously convicted drunk driver

FREWSBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) — New York State Police say high speed led to the arrest of a previously convicted drunk driver in Chautauqua County.

Sunday, after Troopers say Kennedy resident Bethany Jackson, 25, drove 55 miles-per-hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone, she was placed under arrest on suspected drunk driving.

After being taken to the Jamestown State Police barracks, Troopers say Jackson refused to take a breath test.

She was previously convicted of DWI in 2011, leading to the revocation of her driving privileges.

After the alleged Sunday incident, Jackson was charged with felony DWI and felony aggravated unlicensed operation.

She was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.
