Woman killed during drive to Toronto with family

PERRY CENTER, N.Y. (WIVB) — Deputies with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office have released the name of a woman killed in a vehicle crash Thursday.

Perry resident Daniel Robb, 54, was driving north on Perry Road when deputies say he ran a red light and hit a westbound vehicle on Route 20A.

The impacted vehicle had a family of six from New Jersey inside, and one of them was killed.

Veena Jethva, 73, was pronounced dead at the scene after authorities arrived at the crash site.

The driver, Nayankuma Jethva, 46, and three other passengers were hospitalized following the accident, but have since been released. Another passenger remains hospitalized with a possibly broken back.

Robb was treated at a local hospital for minor face injuries.

At the time of the accident, the Jethva family had been driving to Toronto.

Robb was ticketed for allegedly running a stop light, and Nayankuma was ticketed for driving on an expired license.
