BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Buffalo Zoo has announced the birth of three new African lions.

The two females and one male are the cubs of six-year-old Lusaka and three-year-old Tiberius.

The litter was born on May 12 and is the first set of cubs for Lusaka.

Tiberius is now a father four times over. He is also the father of Tobias, the zoo’s first lion cub born there in 25 years.

“We were so excited to share the news at the end of April about Tobias, our first lion cub in twenty-five years, so the media and the public can imagine our excitement at sharing the news about three
more cubs and our growing lion pride,” Dr. Donna Fernandes said.

Zoo officials say they expect the cubs, which remain unnamed as of Wednesday, to make their public debut in August.
