LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) — An inmate at the Niagara County Jail was indicted on multiple felonies after authorities say he tried to arrange the murders of two people.

Deputies say Benito Gonzalez, 33, tried to get a victim and a witness from a previous case that led to his arrest killed.

A Niagara County Grand Jury indicted Gonzalez on two counts of first-degree attempted murder, two counts of second-degree attempted murder, two counts of attempted murder associated with a contract killing, and one count of criminal solicitation.

Gonzalez remains at the Niagara County Jail without bail and will reappear in court on September 12.
