Man accused of burglarizing Erie Co. store, running from scene

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — One man is facing felony burglary and grand larceny charges after Erie County Sheriff’s deputies say he stole from a store in the Town of Brant.

When deputies arrived at Native Pride after hearing an alarm call on the morning of May 30, they saw a Seneca Nation of Indians’ Marshal checking out the store building. Authorities say they observed a broken window and damaged hinges on the structure.

Inside, the store’s manager said $1,000 was taken from them.

As deputies were checking out the scene, they say a man ran from the building. He was later identified as 41-year-old Sean O’Connor.

On the same morning, around 5 a.m., deputies were patrolling on Milestrip Road when they say they found O’Connor walking there.

O’Connor was taken into custody and brought to the Sheriff’s Springville substation, where authorities say they found around $2,000 in his possession.

O’Connor was charged and later arraigned in Brant Town Court.
